California's Mandatory Organic
Recycling Bill: AB1826 Beginning April 1, 2016 The state will
require businesses that generate 8 cubic yards or more of organic
waste per week to establish organic waste recycling services.
Organic waste is defined as green waste, food waste, pruning and
landscape waste, food-soiled paper waste mixed in with food waste
and nonhazardous wood waste. WVC&R will be mailing out an Organic
Waste Assessment Form that will allow us to help you comply with
|Effective July 1,
2012, AB 341, the State of California’s Mandatory Commercial
Recycling Program, requires commercial businesses that generate four
cubic yards or more of solid waste per week and multi-family complexes
with 5 units or more to recycle. Many WVC&R businesses and complexes
are already in compliance with AB 341.
If your business or complex fits into these parameters and you currently
do not have recycling, WVC&R will provide recycling containers
and service at no additional charge.
