West Valley Collection & Recycling offers a free Universal and E-Waste drop-off site where residents can drop off items such as computer monitors, TVs, water-based paints, motor oil, and fluorescent bulbs. The Universal and E-Waste drop-off site is located at 575 Charles St., San Jose, CA and is open weekly, Tuesday – Thursday, 9AM – Noon only.

Acceptable items:

  • Household Used Motor Oil and Oil Filters
  • Household Water Based Paint
  • Household Universal Waste: household computers and keyboardsbatteries, fluorescent tubes and bulbs and other mercury containing lamps, thermostats, mercury thermometers, electronic devices, electrical switches and relays, pilot light sensors, mercury gauges, mercury added novelties, mercury thermostats and non-empty aerosol cans that contained hazardous materials.
  • Household E-Waste: televisions and computer monitors, CPUs, laptop computers, external computer hard drives, computer keyboards, computer mice, computer printers, DVDs and VCRs.
